Graffiti Abatement Reimbursement Grant

Downtown Development has a grant fund to assist with materials related to the removal or covering over of graffiti. This grant is on a "first-come-first-served" basis. We currently have $1000 in the fund and once funds are exhausted we do not expect new grant funds to become available.

The grant will reimburse you up to $100 for the costs of materials purchased to abate graffiti. This includes paint and/or an appropriate paint removal product designed for use on sensitive historic structures. The Downtown Development office can make suggestions on suitable removal products. This grant will not reimburse the cost of labor.

ALL GRANTS MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO WORK TAKING PLACE.

Grant process:

  1. Fill out application prior to work beginning. Work must meet the Downtown Property Appearance Guidelines
  2. Return to the Downtown Development office.
  3. Wait for approval.
  4. If approved, the owner/merchant will have the work done and pay the entire amount.
  5. Once the owner/merchant has received a bill, he/she will submit a copy to the Downtown Development office.
  6. Downtown Development will inspect the work and submit the paperwork to the city for a reimbursement check.
