Signage, Paint and Façade Improvement Grant

Downtown Development has a small grant fund to assist with signage, paint and/or façade improvements. It is on a “first-come-first-served” basis; there is $3500 in the fund and new grant funds become available on Oct. 1 of each year.

The grant is a 50/50 match up to $500. For instance, if you pay $1000 for a sign or façade improvement, you can apply for a $500 grant.

ALL GRANTS MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO WORK TAKING PLACE.

A link to the application is below.  Download, fill out and return the application to the Downtown Development office at 215 E. McKinney St., Denton, TX 76201.

Grant process:

  1. Fill out application prior to work beginning. Work must meet the Downtown Property Appearance Guidelines
  2. Return to the Downtown Development office.
  3. Wait for approval.
  4. If approved, the owner/merchant will have the work done and pay the entire amount.
  5. Once the owner/merchant has received a bill, he/she will submit a copy to the Downtown Development office.
  6. Downtown Development will inspect the work and submit the paperwork to the city for a reimbursement check.
