Capital Improvement Projects

In 1998, a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) improved the appearance and walkability on the face of the Courthouse Square.

In 2007, work will begin on Cedar Street, which will improve the outer square streets and make them compatible with the front of the square. Sewer and water lines will be replaced; benches, planters, and trees will be added to improve the appearance and walkability, and bring the area into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Current conditions on Cedar Street include poor walkability and lack of ADA accessibility.

In 2007, CIP bonds will be sold and design bids will be sought for Walnut Street. Work on the remaining streets (Austin and Pecan) should be completed by 2011.
