Downtown Master Plan

On February 20, 2001, the City Council authorized the Downtown Master Plan contract with Fregonese Calthorpe Associates (FCA). The primary focus of the plan is the balance between encouraging development and exploring partnership opportunities with private investors, while at the same time ensuring that proper design practices are employed. A second area of interest is that of connectivity within the larger Downtown/University Core district.

Catalyst Sites

In 2005, the City engaged RTKL, an urban planning firm, to look at the Downtown Master Plan and recommend projects that would have a significant impact on the redevelopment of downtown. RTKL identified five areas as redevelopment zones capable of viable catalyst development projects. Click the following link detail on the type and location of each catalyst site.
