Denton music venues get a boost from Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program — and applications are open again

Over the past year, Steve Severance, the owner of Steve's Wine Bar on Industrial Street, has noticed a downswing in business — just enough, he said, to cause anxiety.

Severance opened his business with his wife, Karen, in 2016 after friends suggested he take their love of wine and hosting dinner parties to create a space where others could share in their enjoyment.

Steve's Wine Bar and other Denton music venues benefit from Texas' Music Incubator Rebate Program, which offsets taxes to support live music.  

The state program is accepting applications for 2024 until Nov. 30.
