Support local businesses in Denton for Small Business Week 2025

May 5, 2025

May 5 to 11 is National Small Business Week 2025 across the United States. The hard-working and innovative small business owners of Denton, Texas, contribute to the vibrancy and character of our communities and help define what it’s like to live in Denton. This week is an opportunity to celebrate their success and offer appreciation. The Denton Chamber of Commerce and American National Bank and Trust Company are spearheading many local events to celebrate small businesses this year.

Mayoral proclamation and ribbon cutting kick-off week

Throughout this week, small businesses are in the spotlight starting on Monday with a mayoral proclamation at Denton City Hall. A unique series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies representing businesses without a traditional brick-and-mortar storefront, such as mobile businesses or online-only enterprises, will follow Monday’s proclamation.

$100 small business challenge adds friendly competition

Thriving local businesses are essential for the Denton economy, and the Denton Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Association are supporting shoppers who shop local via a friendly competition.

Shoppers who spend at least $100 at any participating small business in the greater Denton area between Tuesday, May 6th and May 11th, should keep their receipts from these boutiques, businesses, and eateries and upload them to a special online form provided by the Chamber. Each uploaded receipt enters participants in a drawing for several fantastic prizes. Winners will be announced on May 12th following the conclusion of Small Business Week. Read full contest details here and start shopping.

Wake-up Wednesday makes networking easy

Networking is essential to success for most small businesses. On Wednesday, making local connections is key with Wake Up Wednesday. Over a cup of coffee, participants can enjoy a morning of networking, professional insights, and conversation with fellow local entrepreneurs and professionals. Register here. After a day of making in-person connections, social media takes center stage on Thursday with the social media blitz.
